Potato dextrose yeast gellan gum soft set dry mix has higher clarity then agar and is good for isolation. The soft set mix is useful for spore germination. The softer media has a surface that stays moist longer to help with difficult to germinate spores. Mix with one liter of distilled water and pressure cook for 20 minutes at 15 psi. Allow to cool to a safe handling temperature and pour into plates. Allow to set. Will continue to be transparent when set as a gel.
